About Me

My name is Holly and I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). Having completed Psychology as my undergraduate degree at the University of Glasgow, I was trained in COSCA’s Counselling Skills and finally finished my degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Strathclyde.

I have worked in local counselling provisions and continue to work with a perinatal service in Glasgow City, supporting pregnant people and parents with their mental health concerns, alongside this private practice.

I have previous experience in other areas of the Health & Social Care sector: supporting people with additional support needs, managing teams of support workers for care providers across the central belt of Scotland, and working with ex-offenders, helping them to rehabilitate and successfully reintegrate into their communities.

With this diverse range of experience I have an on-the-ground understanding of multiple areas affecting people today and the additional environmental and social pressures many people face. Together I hope this helps to build the beginning of a safe and trusting therapist-client relationship.

As a fully qualified psychotherapist, I offer face-to-face, online or telephone therapy sessions. My counselling room is located in the East End of Glasgow, where there is free parking and accessible entry to the office via a lift.

Services

  • Having scheduled your initial consultation, I will call you to introduce myself and enquire more about your enquiry for counselling. The consultation should take approximately 30 minutes and is an opportunity for us both to get a feel for one another, and for you to ask questions or raise any concerns you might have.

  • Some people may be looking for shorter intervention, for instance, a 6 week block of counselling before returning to work, moving house or welcoming a baby. Other clients request longer term, on-going support whilst they work towards their goals. Both are available and we can discuss what your individual support should look like to best suit your specific needs and availability at the initial consultation and during regular reviews which are held through your time in therapy.

  • Depending on what you’re comfortable with and your availability in-person or remote counselling may be more appropriate to fit your routine best. In person sessions take place at my office in the East End of Glasgow. Remote (online or telephone) are conducted from the same office at my end and gives some clients the flexibility they need to still be able to access support.

More about sessions

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, struggling to cope or finding it difficult to speak to loved ones, talking to someone new can be a real help at times like these: whether your goal is to understand yourself more, make changes or find acceptance.

My role is to help you reflect on what you are feeling and where these feelings come from, as well as how to plan and manage the goals and developments you want to make. As a person-centred therapist, I look to build a safe and trusting relationship with you by listening intently to what problems you are experiencing, specific to you and without judgement. From there, we look deeper into these issues, regularly reviewing your developments, but also where you feel more stuck.

The hope is that by offering this space, we can begin the change process, but most importantly, give you the time to explore yourself and reflect on what your needs are moving forward.

The prospect of therapy can be a daunting one, whether it’s brand new to you or you’re coming back to it again, so please do complete and send a contact form below with further questions and/or to arrange your free initial consultation, which you can also book below.

At that point, we will look at what brought you to therapy, areas of your life you wish to focus on and discuss any concerns and adjustment needs you may have regarding the therapy process.
